I can't believe it's 2012. I can't believe that it's been almost 2 years since I was first published.
2012 is going to be a great year! I can already feel it. For one, I will be going to my very first RWA conference representing the Passionate Ink chapter as their Vice President. Can we say Dungeon theme anyone? (:
Secondly, Ms. Libby Murphy and Ms. Liz Pelletier at Entangled Publishing have made my dream come true. My cupcake contemporary romance novel, Fire and Icing (new title to come), will be published in late 2012.
My writing goals for 2012 are to write 2 more books in the Fire and Icing series and 2 more books in a brand new category romance series. 4 books is do-able, don't you think?
I'd also like call myself out. Light a fire under my butt and do everything I can to secure an agent and start selling on proposal in a way that I can make advance money by the time I'm 35. I'm not going to say I want to be NY published because let's face it, the times they are a changing. I would love to be traditionally published by a NY publishing house and right now that's where the advance money is. That was always the dream but realistically who knows where the industry will be in 2015. As long as my books have the opportunity to get to readers, that's all that matters.
As for non-writing goals. I need to start exercising on a regular basis. Seriously, exercising. I'd also like to be a little more disciplined with my time. I have approximately three hours of my day that I spend sleeping on a bus during my commute to the EDJ. I need to start using that time. It'll be tough. My 5 a.m. wake-up call every day is unnatural but I know I can do it. Whether it's reading or writing...doesn't matter. As long as I am not head-bobbing my way to work with drool coming out the side of my mouth (: Not that I do that!
Anyone out there want to share their goals for 2012?
My goals for this year are to learn how to knit... and to write one book in each of the major genres I write. At least, that's what I'm saying. Personally, I'd like to get the second out of the way by May. You know me... lol.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with your goals. :)
