For someone who loves cupcakes as much as I do.....I have no idea where they came from. So, I did a little research. There seem to be two theories about the origin of the cupcake.
The first comes from a recipe, or rather the amount of ingredients used to make a cake. For example, a cupful of flour, a cupful of butter, a cupful of sugar.
The second theory comes from the fact that these small cakes were originally baked in cups.
Either way, they are delicious.
