When Gina asked me to blog about my favourite sex scene, one author immediately sprung to mind: Allyson James . Yes, I am a fan of many, but in this case, I cannot even pretend that the others come close. Allyson James (also writing as Jennifer Ashley and Ashley Gardner) takes the cake.
The very first book of hers that I read (and still my favourite) was Double Trouble, published by Ellora’s Cave . This book has all the things that I love in a paranormal romance: a relatable heroine, the thrill of danger, hot sex, and a gorgeous hero—times two! Fiona is an archaeologist, determined to piece together the shards of an ancient Greek vase, one which her colleagues laughingly dub her “sex jar” for its image of two naked, erect men poised on either side of a beautiful woman. The morning after she glues in the final shard, she returns to find the images of the men gone. At first, she thinks it’s a cruel practical joke from one of her colleagues—until the two men show up in her room.
Castor and Pollux, Greek demigods, have been imprisoned in the jar for centuries. Grateful to Fiona for freeing them, they express their gratitude in the form of erotic pleasures. As Fiona finds herself falling for them, she also discovers that she is pitted up against the evil goddess who trapped them in the jar with her—and who is determined to get them back.
This story is both thrilling and hot, and one of my absolute favourites.
