I was fortunate enough to meet Gina through an online writers group. She helped me so much in my writing. When she asked me to write in her blog, I immediately thought of fantasy.
Romance and Erotic Romance are all about fantasy. The fantasies that are in our heads, but no way would we ever act them out, so we turn to authors who write it all down. These are the books that are hidden under our beds to read at night, so no one knows.
Then to write about fantasies, ones we hear about, ones we don’t admit to ourselves that we have as well. Can’t tell mom, sister, aunt, our best friend that we write about sex, what would they think? We write under pseudonyms so our husbands don’t have to worry about friends Googling their wife. Our significant others should be happy we think about sex as much as they do.
When Gina asked me to write about my favourite author and sex scene, I thought about The Outlaw Lovers by Jan Springer that I had just finished. When a virus kills off 80% of the female population, what are people to do? A woman has to be ‘claimed’ and marry 4 men. It’s all about protecting women, and 4 is better than 1.
The fantasy of it all is more than 1 man at a time, but each Heroine is in love with only 1 of the men, so after the official “claiming” the other men are off to find their own woman. Where would a woman in real life find 4 brothers to share her? Alpha males and strong women, fantasy, great sex and happily ever after, you can’t ask for anything more.
