It's day three of my favorite things week. For those of you who are reading for the first time, I am celebrating the release of my first erotic short, Her Five Favorite Words on April 2nd, by highlighting some of my own favorite things.
Yesterday, I gave you a hint for my next item on the list. They are a band from Tennessee, the members are all under the age of 25 and they are most known for being the band that sings that Twilight song. Any guesses? Paramore.
That's right. My favorite band is Paramore. Aside from Decode (the Twilight song) they are most know for their songs "Misery Business" and "Ignorance." Their first two albums, All We Know is Falling and Riot! consist of catchy, upbeat songs that are easy to sing to.
2008 was a bad year for the band as they struggled with in-fighting and jealousy that almost led to a breakup. Luckily for their fans, they hashed it out and the result was brand new eyes, their third album released in September 2009. This album has some of the most heartfelt, soul-searching and sometimes angry lyrics I have ever heard. Hayley Williams, the lead singer and main songwriter for the group, didn't hold back and laid all of her cards out on the table for the world to hear. She sings about her feeling of rejection and isolation from the other band members, questions about her faith and the subsequent happily ever after once the band got back on track.
My favorite song on the album is "The Only Exception." Williams discusses the trauma of growing up with divorced parents and the feelings of pain and loneliness that lead to the belief that love just doesn't exist, until of course, she meets her only exception. I can identify with this personally, being a child of divorce myself and feeling the exact same way. I often wonder what the result would be if Williams ever decided to write a romance novel. Despite living most of her life feeling that love just wasn't worth it, I am sure she has a best seller inside her somewhere.
I highly recommend giving Paramore a shot. If you don't like them then you can comment on my blog and I give you full permission to rant and make fun of my choice in music.

I am pleased to announce that my friend Clara Hanoux, paranormal romance writer, will be blogging on my site this Friday, April 2nd. She will be ending my favorite things week with a bang as she lists her top ten things that rank a 13.0 on her Richter scale of awesome!!
Tomorrow.....the reason why I got into this business, one of my all-time favorite things.
