Kindle-Saving the world one horse at a time

My world has been rocked. Not in a good way. This is probably the stupidest post in the history of blogs but I will never look at a book the same way.

You see, I have this soft spot for horses. Ever since I was a child I do not, can not stand to see a horse hurt.

For example, when my grandparents took me to see The Neverending Story circa 1980-something and Artax, the horse, was swallowed up by the mud. I went hysterical and needless to say they had to remove me from the theatre. I know, I'm dramatic. In The Ring 2 when a bunch of horses jumped off the ferry and were cut up by the wheel, I cried. In cowboy movies when the horse goes down with the rider on, I cover my face. Shoot a human, torture them, it doesn't phase me. Hurt a horse and I am rattled for days.

So what does this have to do with a Kindle. Like every other author, my favorite thing in the whole world is a book. The smell. The feel. The possibilities of what lie inside the pages. So when a colleague at work told me that the glue they use to bind books is made from horses I went a little nuts. Whether it's really true or not is beside the point. My favorite thing in the whole world will forever be tainted by the apparent death of horses.

I was skeptical at first about buying the Kindle but I am glad I did. I urge everyone to buy one, or an e-reader of some sort. Save the horses!! LOL!!
