Yesterday, New Moon was released on DVD and immediately I went to go and purchase my copy.
I don't hide the fact that I am a Twilight fan. Hate me. Laugh at me. Judge me. I don't care. There is something about the soulful love affair between Edward and Bella that pulls at my heart strings.
By no means does this mean I am a fan of Stephenie Meyer. I find her writing style, over-descriptive and cheesy and I do not appreciate her using her story as a platform to get across her own opinions on marriage and sex. But the girl knows how to keep you reading. Her storyline translates to every girl's fantasy. Maybe not to have a vampire fall in love with them but a boy who loves them just as they are, flaws and all.
After watching the movie last night I weighed the facts in my head for about the hundredth time. Should Bella be with Edward or Jacob? For the first time, my decision was different. Why does she have to choose?
If Twilight were an erotic romance Bella would be in a committed ménage with Edward and Jacob. Now that is a version of Twilight that I would love to see.
That's why I love the romance industry. There are so many genres, so many different palettes to appeal to that the possibilities are endless when it comes to creating stories.
